The two photos (photo & back notation) at the left were submitted by Thomas Cowling of Westwood, New Jersey. After viewing the Hungry Jack Lodge website and finding out about the March 2008 fire he was saddened and sent the photo which was taken in 1973 when our previous main lodge building was under construction. Here is what Thomas had to say in his submission email: "I came across this old photo, …….it was taken as the back of the photo shows……Aug 22 1973. I was nine years old at the time, my brother, father and me just came in from a good morning of fishing.
I am 45 years old now and that is
still one of my best vacations. When I looked up your website I
was sorry to see that fire had destroyed the main lodge….I don’t
know if this is the main lodge being built or not…..but I
thought you might like it. " We will be adding this photo to the History page of the Hungry Jack Lodge website too. Again, thank you very much for this historic photo. |

Bearskin Lake on the morning of March 9, 2008. We had just

Robin Cornacchio of Minneapolis, MN submitted the photo at the left and had this to say about his submission. "A group of us stayed at Hungry Jack Lodge for a week June 29- July 5th. We went to this area to remember a friend that passed away in March of this year. She loved this area, so we all came up to celebrate her life. This picture was taken on July 3rd, on the top of Honeymoon Bluff, over looking Hungry Jack Lake." I'm sure that your friend was looking down upon your group and smiling. Without a doubt her spirit was there with you and her memory was in your hearts. Good luck in the photo contest Robin. |
